BASED isn’t just a fitness brand — it’s a mindset built on one core truth: a solid foundation of strength is the only path to lasting transformation.

The Beginning

My journey began over a decade ago, just like many of yours. I stepped into the gym and was immediately told to do "bro splits" and hop on machines. But something didn't feel right. I started with an empty bar, progressed slowly and steadily, watching countless YouTube videos about form and proper technique.

While others were chasing fleeting gains, I was building my base.

In one year, during my third year of engineering college (attending classes, passing exams, and working part-time), I went from an empty bar to:

  • Bench: 60kg
  • Squat: 90kg
  • Deadlift: 120kg
  • Overhead Press: 40kg

I did it broke. I lived in a dorm with three roommates, cooked most meals myself—even in the dorm when I had to. While everyone else was partying, I focused on studying, working, and improving my body.

Frustration & Curiosity

Over the years, my frustration with the mainstream fitness industry grew—all the “trainers” with scrawny legs, endless fads, and recycled misinformation. I wanted real answers, so I took the long road: I studied, experimented, failed, and refined.

I started with Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe, which laid the foundation of barbell training. Then I moved on to 5/3/1 Forever by Jim Wendler—still one of the most sustainable strength programs out there.

I dove deep into the work of Lyle McDonald, devouring everything from The Ultimate Diet 2.0 to The Rapid Fat Loss Handbook and Flexible Dieting. Around the same time, Martin Berkhan’s “Fuckarounditis” hit me like a hammer—it reshaped how I thought about training and discipline.

Later, I drew inspiration from Dr. Mike Israetel, Jeff Nippard, and other science-based coaches who pushed the industry toward real evidence-based approaches.

I didn’t just read these ideas—I tested them all. I ran the programs, tracked the numbers, and compared results firsthand. What worked, I kept. What didn’t, I threw out.

That’s how I built BASED: by distilling a decade of trial, error, and research into something clear, no-nonsense, and proven.

My Stats Today

At 29 years old, 170cm, 72kg, my 5-rep lifts are:

  • Squat: 150kg
  • Deadlift: 160kg
  • Bench: 100kg
  • Overhead Press: 70kg

All natural. I’ve never taken PEDs, hormones, or SARMs. Yes, creatine is natural—I’ve taken that.

Could they be higher? Absolutely. But what I achieved—while working full-time, building BASED, traveling, and living life—is proof that this system works in the real world, not just under perfect conditions.

If I had the clear, no-nonsense guidance I’m giving you today, I have no doubt I’d already be pulling a 200kg deadlift. And that’s exactly why I started BASED—to give people the shortcut I never had.
